AHOY,
This is info related to my
"one foot equals a mile visualization system". I have discovered that it happens to be a grate scale for visualizing events and objects and thus giving one something equal to a satellite view. If I am given the dimensions, speeds etc. I can visualize events scaled down, proportionately from reality pretty dam well. Wait till I start doing comparative examples, to show everyone "what is happening vs what the media is making the situation sound like".
I once heard it said, that with earth its funny because little things will appear large and large things well appear small.
Example; lets look at the Texas panhandle at one foot equals a mile (
from here on referred to as "to scale").
The panhandle would be approximately 300 feet north to south and 150 east to west i.e. a standard U.S. foot ball field. IMO if you where standing in side that rectangle, you would feel it was quit a large area. And if someone was to suggest that now they were going to show you the U.S.A. at the same scale you may think of it as to large of an area for you to see it all.
However "to scale" coast to coast would be less than one half mile (about 2200 miles or feet to scale) i.e. one quarter mile either way from your position "to scale". That means you could easily see people at actual size quite well, you could wave at them.
ONE FOOT EQUALS ONE MILE SCALE:
Note dividing measurements by 12 keeps them proportionate when miniaturizing.
Note; when I reached to 1/128th mark representing 3.4 or 3 feet 3 inches my limited math skills reached their limit so I begin to round off the figures. However I would argue that the exact figures would not make enough different to matter for basic visualization.
Micron or (um). One millionth of a meter. 1000th of a mm, (1000 in a mm). There are 25400 in one inch. 250 um equal 100th of an inch. The human hair is from 75 to 100 um in width. The human egg is 100 um in width, a single human cell 10 (and is considered to be invisible to the naked eye under any conditions). A bacteria 1-2 um. A virus 100 to 1000 times smaller. Now you would be into the Nano world, billionths of a meter.
1/5000th (thousandth) of an inch = 1 inch to scale. Also 6.5 or 6.25 microns/um.
1/3968th or (4000th of an inch rounded) AKA 1/32 of a 128th of an inch.
512th = 10 inches to scale aka a 500th of an inch (rounded off) and or ¼ of a 128th of an inch. Also 65 um.
256th = 1.7 feet about 18 inches or rounded (125 um), aka 1/50th or ½ of a 128th.
A 128th = 3.4 feet. And about 250 um. Note 3.4 feet rounded to 40 inches, then divide 250 i.e. um by 40 i.e. inches equals, 6.25, thus an inch equals 6.25 um.
1/64th = 6.8, 3/128th = 10.2, 1/32 = 13.6, 5/128th = 17 ft., 3/64th = 20.4, 7/128th = 23.8, 1/16th = 27.2 or .6 rounded, 9/128th = 30.6, 5/64th = 34.0, 11/128th = 37.4, 3/32nd = 40.8, 13/128th = 44.2, 7/64th = 47.6, 15/128th = 51, 1/8th = 54.4 or 55 feet rounded, 17/128th = 57.8, 9/64th = 61.2, 19/128th = 64.6, 5/32nd = 68, 21/128th = 71.4, 11/64th = 74.8, 23/128th = 78.2, 3/16th = 81.6, 25/128th = 85, 13/64th = 88.4, 27/128th = 91.8, 7/32nd = 95.2, 29/128th = 98.6, 15/64th = 102, 31/128th = 105.4, 1/4th = 108.8 or 110 rounded.

AREA AND DISTANCE COVERAGE CHART;
10 troops minimum distance ¼ inch to scale 110 feet in reality. Interval 10 feet apart. Maximum 1 ¼ inch to scale 550 feet in reality. Interval 55 feet apart. Note; at this point figures (for maximum intervals of 55 feet) are also for figuring occupation with 100 troops per square mile rule. 100 troops min. 2 ¼ inch (1000 feet). Max 1 foot (one mile 5280 feet). 1000 troops min. 1 mile (5280 feet). Max 10 miles. 10,000 troops min. 10 miles. Max 100 miles. 100,000 troops max. 1000 miles (square miles too). 1,000,000 troops max. 10,000 miles (square miles too). Note; halve way around the world. It would take 2,404,500 troops exactly at the equator. 10,000,000 troops max. 100,000 square miles. 1 million troops closed/open ranks line formation = 1 meter. i.e. 128th in. = 3.4 ft thus one um.
Formula one person per square yard;
1/16 inch square to scale 27 x 27 feet in reality equals 81 troops. 1/8 inch = 366. 1/4” = 1344. ½” 5377. 1” = 21511. 2” = 86044. 3” 193600. 4” 344,476. 6” = 774,400. 8” = 1.3 million. 9” = 1.7 million. 1 foot = 3.1 million. Note 332 square miles = one billion troops. 1992 square miles = 6 billion or roughly the population of the world.
Note; possible area covered by world population. Formula; 55x55=3025 sq feet, 5280x5280 answer divided by 3025 = 9216 (just like 96x96 representing 55’ to scale or 1/8 inch marks in one foot. This rounded.) 9216 x 4 representing one trooper per corner = 36864 troops per mile, 6 billion earth population divided by 36864 = 162,760.41. square miles of area covered or needed. Also 6 billion divided by 198928080 square miles of earth’s surface shows an average of 30 persons per mile of surface area. 58,086,600 land area of earth divided by 6 billion = 103 persons per square mile.

I once wrote this Chief a letter, asking her to build my "one foot equals a mile, model of the earth". I never recived any reply.
Latter as I studied more geography I realized I had written someone in "tornado alley" asking them to build a large (two and a half mile by four mile or so area) amusement park, LOL.
However it was shortly (maybe a year or two) after me sending my letter, that I read in the "world book" encyclopedia "year book". That some crazy Arab had begun building a series of island condominiums using the earth as the theme for the layout i.e. shape of the tracks etc.
Now known as "Dubai World islands".
